Pu Tim To The World

In plain simple English, this consecration ceremony is dubbed “Pu Tim To The World”.  This is where Thailand’s most famous temple for making the powerful Khun Paen amulets since BE 2516 (CE 1973).  Amulet collectors doesn’t need fresh introduction to Luang Pu Tim also popularly known as The Grand Master of making Khun Paen containing sacred Prai Guman powder.

The Master of Ceremony behind this majestic Pu Tim’s statue figure construction is Luang Pu Choy - the current abbot of Wat Lahanrai, Rayong Province.  This auspicious event unfolded on Feb-Mar BE 2557 (CE 2014) where the supernatural ingredients of Luang Pu Tim once again made its debut to all Khun Paen fans and amulet collectors alike.

To begin with, Luang Pu Tim was a strict and diligent practitioner of the Dhamma. He was known to be a very good monk and possessed only a few worldly materials. He lived a simple life as a Bhikku. In the hut where he stayed, he only had a pillow and a mat with no electricity.  Luang Pu Tim passed away on the 18th October BE 2518 having spent 72 years in the Sangha Order.

Khun Paen Prai Guman is one of the most efficacious amulet talisman ever being created by Luang Pu Tim in modern times. Very few guru monks can create talismans from Prai Guman in this century. Other than Luang Pu Tim, the other 2 notable masters from Nakorn Pathom Province are Luang Phor Tae of Wat Sam Ngam and Luang Phor Poon of Wat Pailom.

Khun Paen: The Next Chapter
Ever since we published an earlier article titled The Charming Attractions of Khun Paen, the article story had received many readerships.  This round we’re taking fans to the heart of this Siam epic legendary talisman by continuing its legacy here at Wat Lahanrai.

Just to recap the legendary Khun Paen’s background for everyone’s sake. Based on the old legend during Ayutthaya’s era, Khun Paen was a handsome man turned warrior. He’s very attractive to ladies. Although legend says that he had many wives, but still many ladies fell in love with him. Unstoppable Maha Saneh in himself.

Khun Paen had many arcane knowledge that he had learned from Ajahn Khong.  He optimize those arcane knowledge to make himself invulnerable and unseen to enemies, to change the marching track of the enemies to become labyrinthine field, and collected stories told that he could even change tree leaves to become wasps to sting enemies.

Khun Paen is also a master in mantras or formulas that could create supernatural powers. They are used for such purposes as stunning enemies, transforming his body into other forms, opening locks and chains, putting everyone else to sleep, and converting sheaves of grass into invulnerable spirit warriors.  Khun Paen also uses love formulas to captivate women, and to subdue the wrath of King.

Khun Paen was also the first to creat Guman Thong. He brought the dead baby from the womb of Bua Klee, one of his wives to the Temple outer area within the chanting hall where the Buddha image is placed. The Temple and its compound is so sacred that no mighty ghosts or spirits could enter. Based on the legend descriptions, Khun Paen was chanting some sacred mantras to invoke the spirit of Guman Thong while roasting the dead baby on a pile of fire.  Thus, Guman Thong was created to help Khun Paen defend against enemy attacks, against malevolent spirits, acted as his eyes and ears, and transported him at great speeds to any destinations.

A highly successful warrior and a lover during medieval times in the old Ayutthaya.  Certainly a modern day Khun Paen in this 21st century would wear one of Khun Paen’s image with the hope to gain that almighty spirit in working life. Don't forget you may need some help from Guman Thong too if you're really into this myth.

How Are Prai Guman Made?
It may be interesting to understand how these potent supernatural powders containing human remains are made by Luang Pu Tim.  It's a very daunting process with many dangers just to produce a small quantity of this Prai Guman powder.  Not anybody can make the powder and if the attempt goes awry it would bring harmful consequences where they would become possessed by demonic spirits.

A close lay disciple of Luang Pu Tim, Mr. Lap Choicharoen once told that he was instructed to locate the corpse of a pregnant woman who passed a cremation ceremony on a Tuesday.
He was tasked to bring the burnt head bone of the dead foetus to LP Tim.  This was required in order to create the sacred powders used in the preparation of the Prai Guman powders of Luang Pu Tim.

The chanting of a specific black magic incantation (similar to the one used by Khun Paen) is required for one week in order to control the soul and also prevent the spirit departing from the Prai Guman.
Once completed, Mr. Lap Choicharoen was instructed to pound and grind the head bone into a fine powder. It was not long that he became somewhat disturbed by sparks emanating from the grinding mortar. He had to burn incense sticks and ask for forgiveness before this phenomenon ceased.

Luang Pu Tim later took the Prai Guman powder and mixed it with other sacred powders concoctions including Ithijae Pattamung powder, Jinda Manee powder, Prawai plus other 108 different herbs and sedges. The mixture was chanted for many days on end before being pressed into the moulding block to make the Khun Paen amulet talismans.  All those powerful BE 2516 Khun Paen amulets made by Luang Pu Tim are of powder mixture where some have Takruts and some without it.

Extremely powerful talisman but not for people with phasmophobia (fear of ghost) because the material compound contained human remains. Khun Paen with Prai Guman is an occult practice added with Buddhist element. If you've read our previous Guman Thong article you will know the reason behind this occultism.
